HELLA’S FUEL-REDUCING ELECTRONICS WILL HELP U.S. AUTO INDUSTRY
DETROIT – Hella's portfolio of energy management systems and components will help automakers increase fuel efficiency and lower tailpipe emissions.
A global supplier of automotive electronics and lighting, the company is exhibiting a wide variety of products at Convergence 2010, the bi-annual automotive electronics conference and trade show, October 19-20, at Cobo Center in Detroit.
"Hella is optimistic its solid financial structure, innovative products, strong manufacturing base and network of customer support operations will help the U.S. auto industry return to growth and profitability," said Dr. Martin Fischer, president of Hella Electronics Corporation and head of Hella Corporate Center USA .
“Our NAFTA region locations are fully able to support our customers with engineering and manufacturing in all product categories. We are contributing to the current environmental and safety movement in the U.S. , as well as comfort functions, such as driver access and authorization systems.”
He noted that Hella has overcome the worldwide auto industry downturn by maintaining a conservative financial standing, responding to industry needs for fuel efficiency solutions and locating key customer support, engineering and manufacturing operations in all major regions of the world.
With U.S. headquarters in Plymouth , Mich. , Hella has been increasing its own manufacturing capacity, despite the auto industry crisis. Its newest electronics plant in San José Iturbide, Mexico , opened in 2008. In 2010 the new plant won Hella’s top internal quality award for electronics products.
Among the products displayed in Hella’s Convergence 2010 exhibit are the company's intelligent battery sensors, electric wastegate actuators, voltage stabilizers and DC/DC converters.
