SAE WORLD CONGRESS 2011 DETROIT: ANALYSIS IN QUEUE - In Proactive Move, Mexico Touts Its Automotive Technological, Design and Development Resources...Mastretta Cars Exemplifies Effort

SAE World Congress 2011 Detroit -      Publisher's note: In spite of socio-economic difficulties regularly finding their way into the world's press, Mexico is clearly not shrinking back in its efforts to remind the industrial and financial sectors that it is not only a robust automotive market, but a source of leading edge vehicular design, engineering and manufacturing resources.

eMOTION! REPORTS.com staffers attended a 4-hour "deep dive" presentation at the historic Detroit Athletic Club (DAC) this week during SAE, hosted by the Consulate of Mexico, Miller-Canfield and ProMexico, among others. While there, we spent time with the CEO of Mexico City based Mastretta Cars, Daniel Mastretta.

According to company materials, "MASTRETTA CARS is a division of Tecnoidea SAPI de CV, a Mexican design and engineering consulting firm based in the Mexico City area with more than 20 years experience in the transportation industry. Through creativity, innovation and technology, Tecnoidea helps businesses create products from the initial concept all the way to successful product development. Tecnoidea effectively becomes an extension of its clients’ product development team. Backed by a solid reputation in providing world-class design and engineering services, Tecnoidea enables visions to become commercial success.

"Tecnoidea drew upon all areas of its business to develop the MXT, which clearly demonstrates the capabilities of the company."

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to spend time with modern automotive pioneers like Heinz Prechter, Erich Bitter, Henrik Fisker, Mary Lee Tucker-McAndrew (daughter of Preston Tucker) Quasiturbine engine co-inventor Dr. Gilles Saint-Hilaire and Stan Ovshinsky, developer of the Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) battery.

We sense a drive and vision in Daniel Mastretta not dissimilar to the aforementioned colleagues...
